John Holder is a registered professional biologist in the Canadian
province of British Columbia. He has 30 years experience in aquaculture
and has had extensive experience with fresh water systems dealing
with salmonids and more recently with cichlids and can be considered
an expert in this field. Mr. Holder has worked and consulted for
aquaculture companies in five continents and has his own consulting
firm - JLH
Consulting Inc. He is presently working on a recirculation/reuse
facility that is being constructed in West Virginia for Arctic
Char as well as a Tilapia recirculation facility in British Columbia
plus numerous other projects.
He has been involved in numerous national and international conferences
both as a delegate and invited speaker. He is on the advisory
board of Hatchery
Magazine, is about to become Past Director of the Aquaculture
Association of Canada as well as a contributing writer to
Northern Aquaculture.
He graduated from the University
of Guelph in 1973 and started his aquaculture career that
same year.
