Kevin Onclin has over 18 years of experience
as a Senior Manager for integrated Finfish Culture businesses in
British Columbia, Canada. He
graduated from the University of Guelph in 1981 and has worked in
the Fisheries and Aquaculture field since.
He has a wide range of experience with management of freshwater
hatcheries, saltwater net cage culture operations, and post
production facilities as well as road and marine transportation
and distribution systems. He has extensive experience in ensuring
long term economic and environmental sustainability of operations
through research and development as well as through capital
expenditure projects for implementation of technological advances,
automation and reorganization. In addition, he has been
extensively involved in the identification, research, negotiations
and setup of new aquaculture sites. Consequently, he is very
knowledgeable on collection and submission of all information for
regulatory licensing by various levels of government such as
management and business plans, environmental assessment reports,
engineering requirements and standard operating procedures. As
well, he has extensive experience in consultation and negotiations
with the indigenous people of British Columbia about existing
finfish aquaculture and proposed operations.
He has served as a member of the board of the British
Columbia Salmon Farmers Association (BCSFA), the Clayoquot Sound
Aquaculture Association (CSAA), and United Hatcheries Ltd. He is a
past president of the Sunshine Coast Aquaculture Association.
